Cancer is indiscriminate in who it chooses to affect, but the power of community to pull together and support those who are or who have been in the fight is a beautiful testament to the good that exists within our world. I have been so inspired recently by several of my colleagues and friends who have valiantly faced their cancer diagnoses with courage, optimism, and steadfast determination to "win." I paddle for them and raise money to support research and programs to help us beat cancer.
