Cancer has been a part of my family's everyday life for more than 25 years. Not only am I a proud provider at Hollings Cancer Center for thoracic surgical oncology but I am a Hollings Cancer Center survivor x 2 as well as a current care giver to family receiving treatment. I can say I have truly experienced it from every aspect. Treatment is only one aspect of cancer care. Patients need to be physically fit to endure it and need the emotional support of other people who have gotten through it. The survivorship program through Dragon boat Charleston provides this free of charge. I rowed with them throughout my own treatment and know how much it helped my fight. The service they bring to our cancer community is invaluable. Please consider donating to our cause. This is a group that is open to anyone who has had their lives effected by cancer i.e. patients, caregivers and providers. Isn't that pretty much everyone???
